The pagan Druids have been carrying out a service at Stonehenge for the past ninety years to honor the summer solstice.( June 21 )
There is a popular belief
but no evidence the the
Druids have no historical
connection with Stonehenge
It was John Aubrey a 17th
century British antiquarian
who first suggested the Druids built Stonehenge, it is now known to be untrue, but maybe the Druids may
have a different point of view?
Druidry is an Earth based
religion formed from a
Celtic culture, there is a
belief among Driuds that
they did derive from the
people who constructed
Stonehenge. The core of
their philosophy lies in the
quest for inspiration or
"Awen" that translates to
"the flowing spirit", this
brings many people eight
times a year to worship at
their temple of Stonehenge

Amazingly, over 20 centuries later, the Druids still exist, and around 10,000 Druids still
practise in Britain. In 1989 the Council of British Druid Orders was formed with just two or three founding member orders, which, according to history and legend, had been in existence for
1,500 years. There are now 12 major orders all over the Britain and the Celtic islands.
